We are an auditioned mixed voice barbershop chorus. Our focus is on high quality singing, through intensive (infrequent) rehearsals, personal commitment and coaching, with an aim of competing against other top choruses.
The idea for a new chorus was conceived by a group of talented singers and friends. We wanted to spend more time singing together and improve the standard of mixed choruses, providing a different option for those who wanted to join this new movement.
Membership of the chorus is open to all, based on the completion of a successful audition. Although the chorus is predominantly based in the UK, we welcome any members who can commit to learning songs and attending rehearsals.
Our Joint Musical Directors are Rae Watney and Lisa Robathan.
Rae is based in Leeds, UK. She has been competing in choruses and quartets since university (including winning a bronze medal at the world mixed chorus championships singing with EQMC), and is excited to lead Endeavour. She currently sings with the White Rosettes (LABBS 2019 silver medallists) and the LABBS Youth Chorus, and is an international quartet and chorus coach. She also has a tortoise called Prismo.
Lisa is based in Edinburgh. She has been an A Cappella director since 2004 and a self confessed barbershop nerd since 2010. She is an international quartet and chorus coach and arranger and has worked with and had arrangements performed by groups in the UK, Europe and America. She is a current (2019) UK BinH gold medallist with her quartet Scandal. She likes chocolate, purple things, terrible puns and tongue twisters.
Rehearsals take place at weekends, between 3 and 5 times a year, dependent on competitions and performances. We aim to compete at european based barbershop conventions with mixed chorus competitions.
Rehearsals will not be at a fixed location. The location of our rehearsals are in the UK, close to an international airport. The exact location of rehearsals will depend on the composition of the chorus.
